Sterilisation Indicator Tapes
The Kartell LABWARE Sterilisation indicator tapes represent a reliable tool for monitoring sterilisation processes in laboratory activities. Designed to be applied to single packages such as boxes and containers, they allow for quick differentiation between sterilised and non-sterilised materials, thanks to the colour change that occurs during thermal treatment. Available for sterilisation in autoclaves and dry heat (Poupinel method), they are suitable for general laboratory use and comply with the ISO 11140/2015 Type 1 standard.
Features and Materials
- Code 1052: adhesive tape made from semi-creped paper impregnated with natural rubber adhesive. Ideal for use in autoclaves, it changes colour from light to brown upon reaching the minimum sterilisation conditions (steam for 10 minutes at 121°C or 2 minutes at 134°C). Lead-free. Shelf life of up to 3 years if stored correctly.
- Code 1051: adhesive tape made from semi-creped paper impregnated with adhesive silicone, resistant to moisture and heat, and easily removable after sterilisation. Specific for dry heat sterilisation (Poupinel method), it changes colour from olive green to brown after 30 minutes at 155°C. Lead-free. Shelf life of up to 2 years if stored correctly.
- Both tapes are not intended for the validation of the sterilisation process but are tools for the visual control of successful sterilisation.
- Compliance with the ISO 11140/2015 Type 1 standard.
